Utah GOP candidate raps in campaign video

A Republican candidate for the Utah State Senate used the medium of rap to convey her political message, rhyming through a series of conservative talking points.

Linda Paulson, a candidate in Utah’s District 12, appears in the film, dancing and rapping.

The following is a transcription of Paulson’s rhymes:

Hey Utah, District 12, listen here
There is a new name on the ballot for the Senate this year
My name is Linda Paulson, Republican and awesome!
Love GODand Family and Constitution
I tried to get another conservative to run
Nobody could do it, so I’m doing it
I am for religious freedom, for life, for the police
The right to bear arms and the right to free speech
I want LESS government control and regulation
You want to stop and expose all political corruption
Where is the integrity, the morality, the responsibility?
Government programs should lead to self-sufficiency
And support the traditional family
As a fundamental unit of society
But in schools they push for new beliefs
And just to clarify this, because there is someone who cannot define it
As an adult, I know what a woman is

I love this country, it is a blessing to be free
But freedom comes with responsibility
The Constitution must be protected
Not changed or ignored, but Risen!
If you share my values, if you like what I stand for
Then give me your vote on November 8th
District 12 needs a choice,
Let me be your voice – Linda Paulson!
